Velocity brings the intensity and possibility of a collegiate case competition to Victoria — free of charge, grounded in place and designed for high school students.

The setting is not background. It is the question.
Vancouver Island's coastline is among the most striking in the world — yet its marine ecosystems face real and mounting pressure. Velocity asks teams to work on a localized ocean issue using actual environmental context from the Victoria region.
The point is not to make a perfect answer in a day. It is to practice noticing a complex problem, choosing a direction, making a case and explaining what could happen next.

Every student deserves a seat at the table. Removing the entry fee is the first step toward making the opportunity reachable.

Velocity is for high school students who want to test an idea, learn how a case works or build confidence presenting with a team. No previous competition experience is required.
Teams work through research, ideation, preparation and delivery in one day. Mentors, judges and organizers make the expectations clear so the challenge can stay ambitious.
