Diversity
We celebrate a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, identities and perspectives.
05 / The organizers
Velocity is organized by Open Minds Foundation, a youth-led nonprofit dedicated to creating equitable, high-impact educational experiences.
01 / Open Minds Foundation
Open Minds Foundation helps young people turn ideas into real initiatives. Since June 2025, it has built a partnership network connecting youth-led work to funding, resources and guidance.
Velocity is one expression of that purpose: a free, professionally structured day where students can practice the skills that make an idea easier to understand, support and carry forward.
Visit openmindsfnd.orgShape the case, schedule and room so the challenge is ambitious and understandable.
Bring together students, mentors, judges, university organizations, sponsors and partners.
Make the day safe, accessible, punctual and ready for people to do their best work.
Help the strongest student ideas find the support and next conversation they need.
02 / How we work
The experience only works when the way we organize it reflects the kind of future we want students to imagine.
We celebrate a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, identities and perspectives.
We work to make every space welcoming, safe and accessible for all youth.
We are committed to learning from and respecting Indigenous histories and communities.
We help youth turn ideas into action through guidance, resources and opportunities.
