03 / Reach & outcome
Make the idea travel.
Velocity's first measure is a full room of students working on a local question. Its longer horizon is what the strongest solutions can become with the right support.
01 / Planned event reach
A room with enough energy to matter.
These figures describe the planned capacity and structure for Velocity 2026. They are targets for the event, not completed outcomes.
Projected / event-specific02 / Project Incubator
The case does not have to end at the closing ceremony.
The top five teams can continue working with Open Minds Foundation, partners and sponsors to develop their solutions toward a real environmental issue. The competition is the first filter: the incubator is where a promising response gets time, guidance and a path to become more specific.
That future work depends on the right support. Velocity makes the handoff visible so students can see how an idea moves from a presentation into a relationship, a prototype or a next conversation.
What can move forward
Practical thinking, carried beyond one day.
Top-five solutions are identified for an implementation pathway. This page describes the intended pathway; future outcomes will depend on the teams, partners and resources involved.
03 / OMF track record
A wider network behind a local event.
Open Minds Foundation has built a year-round network of student-focused case competitions and educational experiences. The figures below describe OMF's broader track record across its work — they are not Velocity attendance or outcome claims.
- 5metropolitan areas reached across OMF programming
- 4case competitions running year-round
- 3partner universities in the wider network
04 / What outcome means
Reach is the beginning. Capability is the point.
Students leave with more than a score. They practice analyzing a real question, collaborating under pressure, presenting to a panel and meeting people who can make the next opportunity easier to find.

For the Island: a locally hosted experience that does not require students to travel to the mainland.
For partners: a clear way to support youth-led problem solving and the work that may follow.
